The introduction to this little book about little houses is provided in eight different languages – this is truly an international book. Projects are showcased from all over the world, including a few in Australia.

Nearly all of the houses are much less than 100 sq/m. One thing is common to all projects – there is no wasted space. There are innovative approaches to all aspects of a home, from circulation to storage to openings in the external skin.

The book, just like the houses, are also mini. The layout for the book is simple – a title page for each project listing the name of the house, who the architect is, where the house is located and the size; then five pages of images.  There is no explanatory text, just images for each project. Most include either a floor plan or a section.

The popularity of the ‘small house movement’ is on the rise – this books showcases some of the best recent examples.
